Given that players will be exploring Raccoon City itself rather than just one building, the remake will be introducing some sort of a fast travel system for players to get around the city. It appears that Jill Valentine will be able to utilize the subway system to visit various areas of the city, and the subway will be serving as some sort of a hub connecting the game’s many locations. This feature is not present in the original 1999 title, although players were able to access a cable car. However, the cable car would only take them straight to the Clock Tower before it gets destroyed for g
Another aspect of Resident Evil 4 that was innovative for the time was its sense of scale, despite its linearity. Leon runs through rural Spanish villages, mineral mines, gothic castles, modern military installations, etc. Even in its 15-20 hour runtime, players travel to such an interesting variety of locales that the game is perceived to be much grander than it is. Even now, as the game creeps up to 15 years old, the world of Resident Evil 4 has a sense of sprawl balanced perfectly with its actual size. Now with modern technology allowing for higher graphical fidelity, a remake could see that scale expanded with larger highly detailed environments further beyond what the GameCube was capable of. Invoking that sense of scale that was so impactful in the original game would be perfect for a Resident Evil 4 rem
Like the Hunter Beta, the Hunter Gamma is made by combining human DNA with something else , but this time, amphibian DNA was used resulting in this frog-like monster. This design is perhaps the most different, for although the angle makes it difficult to see the new version, it seems that the beast is bipedal with no arms. It also looks much more fleshy than the original, and just plain scarier. This design is a clear example of why some creatures had to be redesigned, as the original Hunter Gamma looks kind of si
Resident Evil 3 remake is swiftly approaching, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic after the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake. Re-built from the ground-up, the Resident Evil 2 remake offered improved gameplay and graphics, which is what a remake should accompl
During her iconic comeback in 1999’s Resident Evil 3 , players saw a hardened Jill Valentine. Her opening monologue alone showed her desire to take down Umbrella and bring justice to the deaths of her S.T.A.R.S. teammates. In this game, Capcom did a great job in portraying her as a member of an elite police squad, which was obvious in her more confident attitude in dealing with the Raccoon City outbreak , her reluctance to team up with the U.B.C.S., and Adventuregamesfans.com the way she singlehandedly defeated Nemesis. In succeeding games, Capcom remained consistent with its portrayal of Jill, and many players knew her as a reliable partner to her comrades, but a nightmare to her enem
The negative effects of the virus can be seen much more clearly on the original design, as almost the entire upper half of the monster is covered in mutant growths. In size the two seem to be mostly the same, although it is somewhat difficult to gauge due to the different angles of the two. Although the creature features much more reptilian skin now, a more unexpected change comes in the form of an additional claw. The original appears to have only four claws while the new one has five like a human, as if it needed more ways to shred through play
Similar to the 2019 remake of its predecessor, Resident Evil 3 remake is set to bring a lot of new things to the reimagining of the 1999 game. Ever since the announcement of Resident Evil 3 back in December of last year, Capcom has been generous enough to give fans a peek at what to expect in the upcoming game, which includes a major overhaul of the game’s protagonist, Jill Valentine. But with physical redesigns aside, is Capcom’s portrayal of Jill Valentine in the remake still the same with the origi
An update one should certainly expect from a Resident Evil 4 remake is the refinement of the mobility and aiming mechanics. Resident Evil stuck with the tank-controls aiming technique for the longest time, but eventually evolved to allow for more freedom of movement without sacrificing the series’ evocative feeling of vulnerability. Resident Evil 2 Remake is a prime example of this , eschewing the stationary aiming design and allowing players to reposition ever so slowly. But on the flipside of this, the remake should be careful not to slip too far from the original game’s constraints. Resident Evil 4 ‘s weapon aiming had realistic weapon shake where every slight adjustment required the upmost precision. A Resident Evil 4 remake shouldn’t lose that aspect of its tactical gameplay, but should at least allow for more mobility in com
There are some key differences though which seem to complement the monster quite nicely. For one, the trench coat itself is darker and bulkier, and seems to be made out of some kind of stretched leather. Nemesis is much more top heavy in the new version as well, featuring an even more towering physique than before. And although this is less of a change and more just improved graphics, the extra detail of Nemesis’ face and the way the flesh seems pulled over adds to the overall fear factor of the beast. If Nemesis is going to strike fear into players the same way he did in the original game, it is vital he looks the p
